In relation with this issue, Yahoo advised users to change their passwords as soon as possible. A 17 MB text file containing the stolen passwords was released by a group of hackers called D33DS company.

The Sunnyvale, California, company released a revamped version of the chat service's app on Thursday. Now Yahoo is hoping the service can make a comeback. (To be fair, an informal poll at my office shows that Yahoo Messenger still has fervent users.) Introduced in 1998, Yahoo's service has languished in recent years as new chat apps have drawn buzz.
